Review of the Day

Transfers

Free agent defender Martin Cranie has signed for Sheffield United. The 31 year old only joined Middlesbrough in January for an undisclosed fee but was released at the of the season with just one start under his belt.

Ryan Gauld's career seems to be going nowhere as the Scottish winger has been sent out on loan by Sporting Clube De Portugal to Portugese second tier side Farense.

Schmeichel Signs New Deal With Foxes

Kasper 'Nowhere Near As Good As His Dad No Matter How Much He Tells People He Is Better' Schmeichel has signed a new long term contract with Leicester City. The Danish World Cup keeper is now contracted to the East Midlands club until 2023. Schmeichel joined Leicester from Leeds United in 2011 while they were in the Championship.

Another new deal was handed out to Rangers' Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos after the 22 year old extended his deal until 2022. The Glasgow club rejected an offer in the summer for him from Bordeaux as the forward did enough in the early weeks to earn his first national call up. Rangers' manager Steven Gerrard said: "Alfredo is a vital part of what we are trying to create here and although he has attracted close attention from other clubs it is important we hold on to him."

Joining the new deals is Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who has signed a five year deal with the Serie A club. Despite the links with former manager Maurizio Sarri, who is now with Chelsea, Koulibaly chose to commit to staying put with Napoli.

Colin Lives Up To His Nickname

Neil Warnock has lived up to his nickname as he tells his players to 'rough up' Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey after Wales manager Ryan Giggs admitted he feared for his player. Giggs had said: "I will probably be wincing at every tackle. It doesn't help that you are playing a Neil Warnock team." Warnock's reply has shown exactly why fans of opposing teams detest him by replying: "I hope we can rough him up. Needs must. Aaron is a top player and I've always liked him. I've always thought he was underrated really because he's a player who doesn't grab the headlines, he goes under the radar. He's a manager's dream. He'd be number one on your teamsheet every week and then you put the other 10 around him." Football will be all the better when this dinosaur does us all a favour and retires and players no longer have to play his teams in fear of being hit with a career-ending challenge.

Son Avoids Military Service

Tottenham Hotspur fans will be delighted after key forward Son Heung-Min led South Korea to a gold medal in the Asian Games. Not just because he won something, which is rare for Spurs' players, but because it means that he will now being exempt from military service for his nation. Nice one Son!

Grosicki Goes AWOL

Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki was all set to move on a 2 year loan to Turkish side Bursaspor during the transfer window, passing a medical and agreeing personal terms, when he suddenly walked out on the Turks. Bursaspor's website read Grosicki had: "dismissed the agreement and left the city... without any justification."
