Review of the Day

Contracts

Tottenham Hotspur have activated the contract extension in Toby Alderweireld's contract to extend it to 2020.

Danny Graham has agreed a new deal with Blackburn Rovers. The 33 year old striker has managed 9 goals so far this season and will now be tied down until 2020.

Transfers

Former Manchester City forward Robinho has completed his move from Sivasspor to Basaksehir, both clubs in the Turkish Super Lig.

Nottingham Forest's teenager Ben Brereton has completed a permanent move to Blackburn Rovers. The 19 year joined Rovers on loan in August and the deal has now been made permanent despite the young forward failing to score.

Striker Will Keane has moved to Ipswich Town on loan from fellow Championship side Hull City. The 25 year old joined the Tigers from Manchester United but has struggled badly and scored just once before making the move to the Tractor Boys for the rest of the season.

Gary Madine has left Cardiff City on loan to return to Sheffield. The former Sheffield Wednesday striker has joined the other half of the city and it is expected the move to Sheffield United will be made permanent in the summer.

Stoke City have made two of their loan moves permanent. Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Benik Afobe, who joined Stoke on a loan with obligation to buy just days after he joined Wolves from Bournemouth. Ryan Woods also arrived in the Potteries in the summer, this time on loan from Brentford, with the deal now made permanent.

Derby County centre back Alex Pearce has joined Millwall on loan for the rest of the season.

Efe Ambrose has triggered an exit clause in his contract and left Hibernian.

Bournemouth forward Mikael Ndjoli has extended his loan with Kilmarnock until the end of the season. Bright Enobakhare has left Kilmarnock to return to his parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Crystal Palace winger Jason Puncheon has joined Huddersfield Town on loan for the rest of the season.

Academy graduate Jonny Williams has left Crystal Palace to join Charlton Athletic on a six month deal. The 25 year old was with Palace since he was 8 years old.

Scunthorpe United have made two more signings in the shape of defender Byron Webster from Millwall and Harrison McGahey from Rochdale.

England under-21 goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has joined AFC Wimbledon on loan from Bournemouth for the rest of the season.

West Ham United teenager Vashon Neufville has moved to Newport County on loan.

Swindon Town have completed a double signing on loan. Ben House has arrived from Reading and Canice Carroll joins from Brentford.

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben Barclay has joined bottom of League Two Notts County on loan.

Eddie Howe has done Liverpool another double favour, to add to the one he did when buying Jordon Ibe and Brad Smith from them. This time he has made the double signing of Dominic Solanke and Nathaniel Clyne from the Reds. Clyne has joined on loan until the end of the season, while Solanke has signed a permanent deal for about £18.5m more than he was worth. With both senior right backs at the Cherries ruled out for the season with injury, Howe was keen to find some cover in the position.

Midfielder Stuart O'Keefe has returned to Cardiff City at the end of his loan spell with League One side Plymouth Argyle.

Jordan Mutch has been released by Crystal Palace.

Bologna have made a double loan signing from La Liga side Villareal. Nicola Sansone and Roberto Soriano, both 27 years old, have joined for the rest of the season.

Sheridan Quits Cumbrians For Spireites

John Sheridan has quit Carlisle United as manager with a return to Chesterfield lined up. Sheridan had taken Carlisle to 7th in League Two after a run of 5 wins on the trot. Chesterfield are in the National League relegation places.

Brum Reveal Losses

Birmingham City's financial woes have still not ended as their latest accounts reveal a loss of £37.5m in the financial year ending June 2018. It is actually double the previous year's losses as the wage bill has increased from £22m to £38m. The Brummies are already under FA investigation for the time period over alleged FFP regulations. The second city club are currently sat in 8th in the Championship, 17 points clear of the relegation zone but could possibly face a 21 point penalty.

Celtic Call On Ref To Explain Decisions

In a completely pointless move, Celtic have asked referee John Beaton to explain his decisions during the Old Firm derby last weekend publicly. Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos was cited by the SFA for 3 incidents, but Beaton told them he had seen all 3 and so no action could be taken. You can only think they are trying to deflect attention from their inability to beat Rangers on the pitch as officials will always look after their own and will just make up some new interpretation to protect each other.

O'Dea Embarrassed By His Actions

Dundee central defender Darren O'Dea has apologised to Livingston and their striker Jack Hamilton for feigning a blow to the face after being pushed on the arm. O'Dea has now been banned for 2 games for simulation and said: "In the heat of battle I've reacted in the wrong manner to gain an advantage. I'm embarrassed by it as it's not the example to set."

Rubbish Injury

Millwall will have to make do without defender Shaun Hutchinson for their 3rd round FA Cup tie with Hull City after he suffered an injury putting out his rubbish bins. I am not sure how he managed that, but it takes a special kind of person to do that.

Zola Confirms Bayern Interest

Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has confirmed that Bavarian giants Bayern Munich are interested in signing Chelsea's young winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. Zola said: "We've proposed a contract for quite a while, so we're waiting. We certainly value him as a player. It's about patience. I believe he has a bright future with us. I know Bayern is very interested in him, but we're interested in him as well. I know he hasn't played probably as much as he wanted but this is down to the quality of the players in front of him. It's about patience. I believe he has a bright future with us, but he will have to learn that right now for him it's important to get better and better every day."

Bendtner Starts Jail Sentence

Surprisingly Nicklas 'Lord of Delusion' Bendtner has not been jailed for impersonating a footballer for all these years, instead the 30 year old has begun a 50 day jail sentence in Denmark for assaulting a taxi driver. The deluded one has also revealed he is writing a book about his career, which will no doubt focus on how he is the greatest player never to have won the Ballon d'Or....

Diaz Close To Madrid Move

Spanish youngster Brahim Diaz is close to a move to Real Madrid. The 19 year old has been with Manchester City since joining them from Malaga at the age of 14 but has never managed to establish himself as even a regular option from the bench.

Maradona Out Of Hospital

Legendary Argentine player Diego Maradona has been released from hospital after being rushed in suffering from internal bleeding in his stomach. The 58 year old was undergoing a routine medical when the problem was found but his family said it was not serious.
