Former Norwich Player Guilty Of Sexual Assault

A former Norwich City player, Robert Eagle, has been found guilty of sexual assault. The 31 year old, who also played for Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Grimsby Town, claimed it was just "banter" to make his friends laugh. Eagle was on a night out with 10 friends to celebrate the birth of his baby when he put his hand up a woman's skirt in a Norwich nightclub. Eagle told police that he remembered "misbehaving, doing lad things". The manager of the club stated that Eagle had told him that: "I know I've done wrong, let me just step over the rope and we'll forget about all this." The jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict and Eagle will be sentenced in March.

Rodgers Confirms Shved Talks

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Celtic are in talks with the representatives of Ukrainian winger Maryan Shved, as he looks to stockpile wingers in case of a future shortage. Rodgers said: "I can't say I know a great deal about him. We've got about a million wingers, we don't need another. But what I have seen he will probably benefit the club in the future. It is something that has come to the club through circumstance and he has been watched. I think they will look to get the deal done on him and he will probably be out on loan."

Sarri Agrees With Hazard's Frustration Comments

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has agreed with Eden Hazard's comments that he "should do more" after the Belgian attacker admitted he has frustrated his coaches throughout his career by not doing enough. Sarri was asked if there was truth in the comments: "Sometimes. I prefer him when he speaks with his feet. The potential is higher than the performances, I think. He has to respect, first of all, himself. Eden is at the moment a wonderful player, but he's an individual player. He's a very instinctive player. He's very important for us, of course, because he's a great player. He always can win the match in two minutes, sometimes in one minute, but at the moment he's not a leader. For him it's very difficult to play only in one position. He wants the ball on the feet. For him, I think, it's very difficult to play as a striker, but it's very difficult to play also as a winger. We have to organise the other 10 players in the defensive phase because he needs to play everywhere on the pitch."

FA Charge Over Nazi Salute

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has been charged by the FA for the photograph posted on social media by team-mate Max Meyer which appears to show Hennessey making a Nazi salute. Meyer, who posted the photograph, is German, but Hennessey claims he "waved and shouted at the person taking the picture to get on with it" and "put my hand over my mouth to make the sound carry". It is possibly the most ridiculous explanation ever, as no one covers their mouth to make sound carry further!

Becks Set For Salford City Ownership

David Beckham is set to join the Neville brother, Ryan Giggs, Paul Schole and Nicky Butt in taking a stake in Salford City. The former England captain will take a 10% stake in the National League to add to his part-ownership of future MLS side Inter Miami. The former Manchester United players now own 60% of the club, with Singapore businessman Peter Lim owning the other 40%.
