Contracts

Napoli's former Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa has signed a contract extension taking the Cameroon international's deal up until 2025. There is also a contract option for both parties for a further 2 years.

OGC Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo has extended his deal until 2027.

1.FSV Mainz 05 have given former West Ham United midfielder Edimilson Fernandes a contract running until 2026.

Bayern Munich full-back Josip Stanisic has also signed a deal running until 2026. Veteran goalkeeper Sven Ulreich has a new deal ending in 2024 with Bayern.

Pablo Marin has signed with Real Sociedad until 2027.

Also agreeing a deal with ends in 2027 is young defender Pierre Kalulu with AC Milan.

In Major League Soccer Austin FC have signed up Irish winger Jon Gallagher until the end of 2026 with a club option for another year.

Also in MLS football Derrick Williams has signed a 1-year deal with DC United.

Teenage defender Axel Guessand has a new contract running until 2027 with Udinese.

Real Sociedad, currently flying high in 3rd place in La Liga, have extended the contract of head coach Imanol Alguacil from 2023 to end in 2025. Alguacil has been in charge since 2018, steadying the troubled club and making them regulars in European competition. What is surprising is his name never pops up when big clubs are looking for a new manager.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that the club might lose England midfielder Jude Bellingham as they "can't afford to fight financially". Watzke told Bild-TV: "I think as soon as Qatar is over, we're going to have a basic conversation about what he actually wants. With him, with his parents, with whom we have a very close relationship and of course with his advisor. And then he should just tell us whether he wants to stay or whether he wants to go. Either way, we'll discuss it pleasantly and reasonably. But we don't have to pretend that the topic isn't on the table. When the really big ones are there, we can't afford to fight financially either. Jude is a wonderful boy who also has his fluctuations - we've seen that now but he is certainly one of the greatest talents in European football."

Transfers

Burton Albion have signed free agent former Rangers forward Joe Dodoo on a short-term deal.

Aston Villa youngster Indiana Vassilev has joined St Louis City on loan. St Louis have also paid over £400,000 for Tim Parker from Houston Dynamo. Drafted to the new MLS franchise were John Nelson from FC Cincinnati and Nicholas Gioacchini from Orlando City.

DC United paid fellow Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy £160,000 for defender Derrick Williams.

Nashville SC paid over £200,000 for Fafa Picault from Houston Dynamo.

Nearly £400,000 was paid by Orlando City for left-back Luca Petrasso from Toronto.

AS Roma defender Rick Karsdorp has been labeled "unprofessional" and told to find a new club by head coach Jose Mourinho. After Roma drew 1-1 with Sassuolo, former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United manager Mourinho said that his team were betrayed by one player: "An unprofessional attitude that is not fair to his teammates, that is what disappoints me. A point away from home is still not a negative result and I am happy with the general attitude of my squad. I won't tell you [which player]. I had 16 players on the field tonight and I liked the attitude of 15 of them. In January, he needs to find himself another club." It was quickly made clear Mourinho was referring to Karsdorp when the Dutch full-back left Rome with his family and was left out of the weekend's Roma squad. Footage quickly emerged (see picture) of the 27 year old showing why Mourinho was angered by him after he came on as a 65th minute substitute, looking totally disinterested and allowing players to run off him at will.

Injury Round Up

Former Everton and Newcastle United injury-table regular Dan Gosling has suffered a serious Achilles injury while playing for current club Watford against Bristol City.

Plymouth Argyle midfielder Conor Grant could be set to miss 4 months after tearing a thigh muscle.

Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Presnel Kimpembe has withdrawn from the France squad with injury. The PSG man was included despite an Achilles problem but has now withdrawn and AS Monaco's Axel Disasi has been called up as a replacement.

Job Changes

Exeter City have promoted Kevin Nicholson to assistant manager to Gary Caldwell. Nicholson, who has managed Torquay United in the past, had been coaching in the Exeter academy. The Grecians have also brought in David Perkins as a first team coach. Leaving the League One club will be goalkeeping coach Scott Brown and physio Gareth Law.

Manchester United's Director of Football Operations, Alan Dawson, has stepped down after five years in the role.

Everton have promoted Charlie Reeves to Senior Lead for Performance Insights. Reeves was previously Performance Insights Analyst at the Toffees.

Southampton have brought in Chris Cohen and Alan Sheehan from Luton Town as assistants to new head coach Nathan Jones.

Corinthians in Brazil have sacked Vitor Pereira. The Portugese coach was interviewed by Everton when they searched for a replacement for Rafael Benitez ten months ago.

Despite calls for him to be sacked, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has given his backing to head coach Xavi Hernandez, despite their woeful performance in the Champions League. Laporta told Sport: "Not at any point in time [has Xavi's job been under threat]. We have complete confidence in Xavi as a coach. And I can assure you that we are very proud of the coach we have. He is a coach who knows the club very well, who knows the moment at which he has arrived. In addition, he knows how to communicate with the different members of the club about everything that can be improved." Barca currently top La Liga.

Disciplinary Charges

Celtic were fined £15,350 by UEFA for an anti-monarchy banner displayed during October's Champions League match against RB Leipzig.

Heart of Midlothian have been fined £10,500, also by UEFA, for "lighting of fireworks" and "throwing of objects" by their away fans in Florence during their 5-1 European Conference League thrashing by Fiorentina. The Florentines were also fined £4,000 for their fans' using flares.

Police are investigating due to the match between Burnley and bitter rivals Blackburn Rovers being halted by a number of fireworks landing on the pitch. The police stated: "We are also aware of isolated pockets of disorder and missile throwing during the game which will form part of the post-match investigation. This will be thoroughly investigated by our officers and officials from both football clubs. Footage will be reviewed and the appropriate action will be taken against anybody involved."

AJ Auxerre fans became the latest to protest against the forthcoming World Cup in Qatar. During their game against PSG, Auxerre supporters unfurled a banner which simply read: "BOYCOTT QATAR 2022".

Ronaldo Disappears Up Own Backside

Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to destroy all the good feeling he had left over from his first stint at Manchester United with one interview with his scumbag friend Piers Morgan. Ronaldo claimed he felt "betrayed" by the club and is being forced out when asked directly if the hierarchy were trying to force him out: "Yes, not only the coach, but another two or three guys around the club. I felt betrayed. People should listen to the truth. "Yes, I felt betrayed and I felt like some people don't want me here, not only this year but last year too." Ronaldo also admitted to having no respect for head coach Erik ten Hag: "I don't have respect for him because he doesn't show respect for me. If you don't have respect for me, I'm never gonna have respect for you." The 37-year-old also responded to criticism from former team-mate Wayne Rooney: "I don't know why he criticises me so badly... probably because he finished his career and I'm still playing at a high level. I'm not going to say that I'm looking better than him. Which is true..." Ronaldo also hit out at the club for not moving with the times and updating the infrastructure since he was there the first time. All I am reading is 'me, me, me, it's all about me' in this entire interview, especially his comments on Ralf Rangnick: "If you're not even a coach, how are you going to be the boss of Manchester United? I'd never even heard of him." CR7 also confirmed he was all set to sign for Manchester City until Alex Ferguson stepped in to speak to him. The whole thing just comes across as a spoilt child throwing a tantrum because he is not getting his way.

Rudiger Donates World Cup Salary

Real Madrid's former Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is donating the salary he will receive from Germany to his foundation in Sierra Leone, the home of his mother. The charity is based in Lunsar and will use the money to pay for eleven children to have operations on children born with 'club foot'. Rudiger told Marca: "It hurts to see the circumstances in which Sierra Leonean children grow up. During surgery, the misalignment is corrected before patients can finally walk and participate in social life, after several months of follow-up treatment. In Germany I have been given opportunities that many people in Sierra Leone are denied. I am grateful for these opportunities and I greatly appreciate the privileged position I find myself in. Helping here is a matter of honour for me. I would like to implement many more projects in Sierra Leone with my family in the future."
