Contracts

Young striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has agreed a 4 year deal with 1.FSV Mainz 05.

Leicester City midfielder Harvey Barnes has been rewarded for his breakout deal with a 5 year contract.

German midfielder Niklas Schmidt has got a new contract with Werder Bremen.

Toulouse have given midfielder Kalidou Sidibe a new 4 year deal.

Caen have given Jessy Deminguet a 4 year contract.

Scottish centre-back Shaun Want has signed a 1 year deal with Hamilton Academical.

 

Transfers

Eintracht Frankfurt have paid just under £4m for teenage Serbian centre-forward Dejan Joveljic from Red Star Belgrade.

After signing his new deal with Bremen, Niklas Schmidt has been sent out on loan to VfL Osnabruck.

Former Rangers captain Lee Wallace has moved to QPR on a free transfer. Scottish goalkeeper Liam Kelly has also joined Queens Park Rangers, for an undisclosed fee from Livingston.

Striker Riad Bajic has joined Konyaspor on loan from Udinese.

Bayer Leverkusen have paid around £13.5m for Moussa Diaby from Paris Saint-Germain.

Veteran Argentine defender Gustavo Cabral has left Celta de Vigo to join Pachuca on a free transfer.

Real Betis have paid just over £7m for winger Juanmi from Real Sociedad.

West Ham United have splashed out over £25m for Spanish attacker Pablo Fornals from Villareal.

Argentine forward Ramon Mierez has made a £2m move to Alaves from Tigre.

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has returned to his home country of Brazil to sign on a free transfer for Palmeiras. He was released by Jiangsu Suning last month.

Newport County have signed defender Lazar Stojsavljevic following his release from Millwall.

MK Dons have picked up Regan Poole following his release from Manchester United.

Wesley Jobello has signed for Coventry City for an undisclosed fee from Ajaccio.

Bradford City have made the double signing of Clayton Donaldson from Bolton Wanderers and Adam Henley from Real Salt Lake.

Midfielder Nathan Ferguson has joined Crawley Town from non-league side Dulwich Hamlet.

Ryan Edwards has joined Blackpool from Plymouth Argyle.

Forest Green Rovers have released Tahvon Campbell and the 22 year old forward has immediately signed for neighbours Cheltenham Town.

Japanese teenager Takefusa Kubo has signed for Real Madrid from FC Tokyo for a fee believed to be under £2m. He was previously on Barcelona's books until the age of 13.

 

Swans Appoint Cooper

Former Liverpool coach Steve Cooper has taken the job as Swansea City manager and taken another former Red with him in the shape of Mike Marsh as an assistant. Cooper was working as England U-17 coach, where he won the Under-17 World Cup. Cooper is the son of a former Premier League referee, Keith Cooper.

 

Woodgate Steps Up

Middlesbrough have turned to Jonathan Woodgate as their new head coach to replace Tony Pulis. It is his first management role at senior level and he has said he wants to get fans on the edge of their seat. Robbie Keane is to be his assistant. I just hope there is someone else there to work on keeping players fit, oh and making sure they behave themselves rather than getting booted out of their hometown club at the age of 16 and stamping on people's heads as a form of entertainment on a night out.

 

Turnbull Rejects Bhoys

Celtic's move for Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull is in trouble after he rejected their offer. The teenager was unable to agree personal terms with Celtic and Celtic said: "Currently, we have been unable to come to an agreement with the player's agent. Celtic FC is content that it has made a magnificent offer and it is now up to the agent and player to decide if the player wants to join Celtic. If not, we move on."

 

Leonardo Returns To PSG

Former Brazilian midfielder Leonardo has returned to Paris Saint-Germain for a third spell and his second as sporting director of the club. Leonardo was at the club during the takeover by Qatar Sports Investment and played a big part in making the deal happen. Leonardo said: "I am really happy to come back to PSG once again. This club has been so important to me in my football career and in my life. I had really emotional moments here both as a player in the late 90s and more recently as sporting director along with our chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi on my return to the club in 2011. Today, I come back to Paris full of energy to rejoin this club that I deeply respect."

 

LFC And Man Utd Join EFL Trophy

Manchester United and Liverpool are among the 16 teams that will enter Under-21 sides in the EFL Trophy next season. This will be the first time that the entire top six from the Premier League will be represented in the trophy, which used to be just for League One and League Two sides.

 

Milan Give New Roles To Legends

Legendary former players Zvonimir Boban and Paolo Maldini have been given new roles at AC Milan. Boban has left a position as deputy secretary general at FIFA to take up the job of Milan's new chief football officer. Maldini, a man who embodies the word legend in Milan, has become technical director, a promotion from sporting development director.

 

Bulgaria Under Racism Investigation

UEFA are investigating a case of alleged racist behaviour by Bulgaria fans in a match against Kosovo on Monday, which Bulgaria lost 3-2 at home in Sofia.
