Contracts

Real Zaragoza midfielder Jorge Pombo has a new 4 year deal.

Transfers

Watford have sent teenage Serbian striker Filip Stuparevic on loan to 1.FK Pribram.

Free agent Hungarian international striker Norbert Balogh has signed for Hull City following a trial with the Championship side following his release from Palermo.

Injury Round-Up

Manchester City left-back Bernard Mendy is closing in on a return to fitness according to manager Pep Guardiola. Guardiola said: "He's good and he's training now. I'm delighted because that's two weeks. Everything is going well, the knee is reacting well. Hopefully in the next games he can be part of it." He also expects Leroy Sane to return earlier than expected saying: "He did the injury in August, so December or January, maybe February. That should be perfect. I'm told the surgery was good. He came back two days ago and he is making his rehabilitation with us. Hopefully he can come back well and soon."

Rangers winger Ryan Kent has suffered a hamstring injury on his first game since signing a permanent deal. The 22 year old will miss a few weeks. Manager Steven Gerrard said: "He's got a hamstring injury, unfortunately. It's a blow for Ryan, a blow for me, a blow for all of the supporters. He's trained well all week and looked ready to go. Unfortunately these things happen in football but that's the only disappointing thing to come out of today really - the injury to Ryan. We'll assess it in the coming days but I predict he'll be missing for at least a few weeks."

Jones Pleads For Patience

Stoke City manager Nathan Jones has asked for patience after his side got off to a rocky start this season. The Potters have won just 4 times in 30 games under Jones since he left Luton Town to take over at Stoke and they have just one point from 7 games this season. Jones said: "I want to change things but nothing is going for us. There are teams with far more points than us, but are playing worse than us. The fans and the club have been brilliant with the patience they have given me and I have to repay that. But we can't keep saying that because eventually people's patience runs out. The board sees the work I do every day, they are good football people but I don't know how long they can be patient."

Levein Out Protests At Hearts

Struggling Heart of Midlothian have failed to win any games this season and this triggered a protest by fans of the club against manager Craig Levein, but he believes he can turn things around. After seeing several hundred fans gathering outside Tynecastle around a 'Levein Out' banner, with chants of "sack the board" heard to be chanted" Levein said: "Do I feel my position is untenable? I don't. I feel I am more than capable of improving results. It is just part of the job. Supporters get frustrated that their team at home should be winning. My focus is just on the game. I don't try and listen to anything else. It's not helpful. The season has just started. We are six points off fourth place. I don't consider that to be a huge problem for us."

Allen Quits At Rangers

Rangers' director of football Mark Allen has handed in his resignation saying it was "a privilege to work for Rangers, one of the biggest clubs in football". A Rangers statement said Allen "has helped move Rangers into a significantly stronger and more challenging position" after being "instrumental in successfully revamping the football department". They said Allen was leaving for family reasons and to explore other options.

PSG Fans Boo Neymar

After a summer spent unsuccessfully trying to force a move away from Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar returned to action for the French champions against Strasbourg. His name was booed when read out before the game. Each time he touched the ball he was roundly booed. He was booed when he took a corner and even when he scored the only goal of the game late on it was received with a mixture of cheers and boos. There were also a number of chants and banners expressing how the fans felt about Neymar using 'vulgar' language.
