Injury Round-Up

Scans have shown a tear to the medial collateral ligament in Franck Ribery's right ankle. The veteran Fiorentina winger was taken off in the first half of the defeat to Lecce.

Argyle Appoint DoF

Former England and Everton youth coach Neil Dewsnip has been appointed as director of football at Plymouth Argyle. Dewsnip initially joined the League Two club as a technical consultant and said: "I am really excited to start as director of football. I have been lucky enough to have enjoyed success previously with the English FA, and I will be working hard to ensure that this pattern of success continues at Home Park."

Afobe Heartbroken

Stoke City striker Benik Afobe and his family have been left "devastated and heartbroken" by the death of his two-year-old daughter Amora, who passed away on Friday. A statement from the 26 year old forward, currently on loan with Bristol City read: "Amora was taken to hospital for treatment after unexpectedly developing a severe infection. Unfortunately she then suffered a number of serious complications and, despite doctors doing absolutely everything that they could, Amora passed away peacefully with the love of her family by her side. The entire family have been left totally devastated and heartbroken, and would like to ask that their privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult time."

Cannavaro Leads Team To Title After Culture Class

Former Italy international Fabio Cannavaro has led Guangzho Evergrande to their 8th Chinese Super League title, despite being stood down in October to attend a "corporate culture class". Cannavaro was restored to the management role after agreeing to "deep self-reflection".

Hornets Sting Again

Just three months after bringing back Quique Sanchez Flores, Watford have sacked him again. Flores had previously been in charge of the Hornets for the 2015-16 season, then reappointed in September to replace the man who replaced him, Javi Gracia. Watford chairman Scott Duxbury said: "Quique is a man of great integrity and it was clear how much he wanted to have a positive impact, but ultimately results have dictated our decision. The appointment of a new head coach is imminent, and with nearly two-thirds of the season remaining, we will provide all the support necessary to make the coming months successful."

Torrential Rain Causes Game To Be Postponed

The Ligue 1 match at Monaco between AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain has been postponed due to torrential rain. A PSG statement read: "Due to the extreme weather conditions in the Alpes-Maritimes region, the authorities in the principality have decided to call of Sunday's Ligue 1 game. Some 1,000 Parisian fans were expected to attend the game tonight. The club will contact them by email to discuss the steps to follow regarding either the exchange of tickets or reimbursement."

Petit Hits Out At Neymar

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has accused Neymar of being disrespectful to Paris Saint-Germain and its supporters. Petit told RMC Sport: "When I played with [Zinedine] Zidane or [Youri] Djorkaeff, I knew they were able to decide a game on their own, so we accepted their defensive neglect. We accepted it and did our job because we knew they could win with a flash of genius. This is not the case, at all, with Neymar. This guy plays for him, and only for him. Put yourself in the place of the boys in the place of the PSG dressing room, who live for months with the whims of this guy who sh*ts on the club and their supporters; he has no respect."
