Contracts

Paris Saint-Germain's Brazilian utility man Marquinho has signed a contract extension which runs until 2024.

Veteran Augsburg midfielder Daniel Baier has signed a new 18-month deal.

RC Lens winger Charles Boli has signed a 3 and a half year contract.

Lincoln City defender Aaron Lewis has signed an 18 month deal.

 


Transfers

Deportivo Guadalajara have ended the deal to sign Victor Guzman and returned him to Pachuca after he failed a doping test.

Major League Soccer side DC United have signed Peruvian winger Edison Flores from Mexican Liga MX side Morelia for around £4m.

Colorado Rapids have paid £450,000 for Guingamp winger Nicolas Benezet.

Watford have spent over £7m to clinch the signing of Ignacio Pussetto from Udinese.

Borussia Moenchengladbach have sent teenage full-back Jordan Beyer on loan to Hamburg.

Swansea City goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt has joined Genclerbirligi.

Jagiellonia Bialystok striker Patryk Klimala has signed for Celtic.

Former Liverpool, Chelsea and Swansea City forward Fabio Borini has made a free transfer move from AC Milan to Hellas Verona.

TSG Hoffenheim have signed Michael Esser on a free transfer from Hannover 96.

Deportivo La Coruna have signed Sabin Merino from Leganes.

Ben Heneghan has returned to Sheffield United from a loan spell with Blackpool.

Charlton Athletic loanee Conor Gallagher has returned to parent club Chelsea.

Inter Milan midfielder Lorenzo Gavioli has returned from a loan spell with Venezia.

Antonio Sivera has joined Almeria on loan from Alaves. Joining Alaves is Spanish teenager Ismael Gutierrez on loan from Real Betis.

Atalanta striker Luca Vido has joined AC Pisa on loan.

FC Thun of the Swiss Super League have signed Leonardo Bertone from MLS team FC Cincinatti.

Osasuna have loaned out Spanish striker Brandon to Girona.

Brescia have paid around £2.5m for Finnish striker Simon Skrabb from Norrkoping.

Raul Garcia has joined Real Valladolid on loan from Getafe. Leaving Valladolid on loan is Anuar, who has joined Panathinaikos.

Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has joined AC Milan on loan as a replacement for former Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina, who has left Milan to join Aston Villa on loan.

Motherwell have signed Mikael Ndjoli on loan from Bournemouth.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green has joined Swindon Town on loan from Huddersfield Town.

Everton have paid an undisclosed fee from teenage defender Jarrad Branthwaite from Carlisle United.

West Ham United's Joe Powell has signed for Burton Albion after they paid an undisclosed fee for the midfielder.

Zak Dearnley has rejoined Oldham Athletic on a free transfer. The youngster was released by Manchester United in the summer at the end of a loan spell with Oldham.

Stevenage have paid a "five-figure fee" for striker Jake Cassidy from National League team Maidenhead United.

An undisclosed fee has been paid to Sheffield Wednesday for defender Ashley Baker by Newport County.

Moses Ogby has been released by Grimsby Town.

Former Liverpool and Juventus central midfielder Momo Sissoko has retired at the age of 35.

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is close to a return from injury.

 


Pompey Unveil Stadium Plans

Portsmouth have released their plans for a revamp of their Fratton Park stadium, which would increase capacity to 20,000, a mere 300 increase. The club are seeking public cash to help pay for the work, which will include a larger concourse area and covered areas for home and away disabled supporters.

 


Mackems Apologise For Flute Tweet

Sunderland have had to apologise for a tweet sent out by their official account which they say was a "genuine mistake". The Black Cats posted about the signing of former Rangers forward Kyle Lafferty with photographs captioned: "he's seven foot and plays the flute". The line references a chant from his time with Rangers and was quickly deleted with the club saying: "It was a genuine mistake and was removed immediately. It was written in all innocence by someone unaware of how it could be interpreted."

 


Terriers Charged By FA

Huddersfield Town have been charged by the Football Association with "failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion". The charge is over an incident in the 96th minute of their 2-1 defeat at the hands of local Yorkshire rivals Barnsley on Saturday.

 


FA Cup Deal Investigated

The Gambling Commission are investigating the deal made by the Football Association to show FA Cup matches only on betting sites. Gambling Commission chief executive Neil McArthur told the BBC: "Our investigations into that matter are ongoing. I understand why there are concerns, and to be clear we already require gambling operators to market, advertise or engage in sponsorship in a socially responsible way. We are in touch with all operators in the deal to find out what they did to satisfy themselves." Most of the matches are only made available to those who have placed a bet or deposit to a betting account.

 


Barca Make Managerial Change

Despite being top of La Liga, Barcelona have sacked their manager Ernesto Valverde and brought in former Real Betis manager Quique Setien to replace him. Valverde has been heavily criticised by fans due to his team's collapse in consecutive Champions League campaigns after looking to be safely through. Fans and players were also unhappy with the style of play. Setien had previously been targeted while manager of Betis, who he led to their highest finish for nearly 15 years.
