Review of the Day

Contracts

Queens Park Rangers duo Ryan Manning and Bright Osayi-Samuel extend their contract until 2021.

Transfers

Portland Timbers defender Claude Dielna has signed for CS Universitatea Craiova on a free transfer.

Exeter City have signed free agent goalkeeper Jared Thompson.

Former Scotland international right-back Alan Hutton has announced his retirement at the age of 35. Hutton left Aston Villa in the summer and was unable to find another club since then.

Injury Round-Up

Sunderland defender Bailey Wright looks to be out for the rest of the season after he suffered an ankle injury.

Derby County winger Duane Holmes is rules out for "several weeks" with a leg injury.

Neymar blames Paris Saint-Germain for handling his injury badly. Neymar said: "It is difficult to spend four matches without playing, but, unfortunately, it was not my choice. It was a choice made by the club, the doctors. They took this decision and I did not like it. We had lots of discussions about this because I wanted to play. I felt good but the club was scared. In the end, I am the one who suffers. I understand the fear that the club was suffering from, because in the last two years I was not able to play in the round of 16. I respect the decision, but it cannot be like this, because the player ends up suffering. It was very difficult to play a match like this, intense, 90 minutes without stopping. It is different. Had I been in better shape, I would certainly have played better.

Disciplinary Charges

Hamilton Academical's defender Jamie Hamilton has had his red card rescinded on appeal. The 17 year old would have been banned for 3 matches for his third red card of the season if the appeal had not been upheld.

Rangers have been fined a total of £15,000 by the Scottish FA for a pair of incidents in matches during December. £10,000 resulted from gestures made by Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent during a game against Celtic. The other £5,000 is for a mass confrontation involving coaches from both teams when they faced Hibernian.

Ozil Left Behind

Arsenal's squad travelling to take on Olympiakos in the Europa League on Thursday is missing Mesut Ozil. It is believed he is staying home as his wife is close to giving birth to their first child. Matteo Guendouzi has been recalled though.

City Allegations Untrue Claims Their CEO

The chief executive of Manchester City, Ferran Soriano, has dismissed the allegations against the club as "simply not true". Soriano said: "The fans can be sure of two things. The first one is that the allegations are false. And the second is that we will do everything that can be done to prove so. The owner has not put money in this club that has not been properly declared. We are a sustainable football club, we are profitable, we don't have debt, our accounts have been scrutinised many times, by auditors, by regulators, by investors and this is perfectly clear."

Chelsea Player's Agent Reveals Inter And Juve Interest

The agent for Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri, Luis Fernando Garcia, has told a Juventus website that both Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in signing his client. Garcia said: "We know very well about Juventus' interest but Inter are also interested. So far there has been no talk of a transfer with Chelsea, nor has there been any official offers. I believe that until May there will be no official offers from the two clubs. In the summer we will decide what to do." Emerson was first choice under Frank Lampard for most of the season, but has recently lost his place with the emergence of Reece James seeing club captain Cesar Azpilicueta move over to the left-back berth.
