Contracts

Wolverhampton Wanderers Spanish international full-back Jonny Otto has signed a new contract which runs until 2025.

Transfers

Celtic defender Hatem Abd Elhamed has returned to former club Hapoel Be'er Sheva as he struggled in Scotland with homesickness. Beer Sheva paid £810,000 to take him back.

Former Aston Villa centre-back Ron Vlaar has retired.

In Major League Soccer, C.J. Sarpong has joined Nashville on a free transfer from Chicago Fire.

Injury Round-Up

Hull City's captain Richie Smallwood has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The 30 year old has suffered an injury in the medial ligament in his knee.

Managerial Changes

Paul Tisdale has lasted less than three months in charge of Bristol Rovers. Since a 12 year spell at Exeter City, Tisdale has struggled to replicate his success there. His time as manager of League One Rovers saw him lose 11 of the 19 matches he took charge of.

Also in League One, Northampton Town have sacked manager Keith Curle and his assistant Colin West. The Cobblers are 23rd in the table with just 20 goals in 26 matches. Curle led Northampton to promotion from League Two last season via the play-offs.

Disciplinary Charges

Morecambe's Yann Songo'o has been charged by the FA with making a homophobic comment during the defeat to Tranmere Rovers. The 29-year-old midfielder was sent off by referee Paul Howard for foul and abusive language.

Rangers forward Kemar Roofe's appeal against a 2-game ban has been rejected.

Norn Iron Friendly Agreed

Northern Ireland are set to face the USA for the first time next month. A friendly match at Windsor Park has been agreed for Sunday 28th March, three days after Northern Ireland are due to face Italy and three before they take on Bulgaria. The two games either side are World Cup qualifiers.

Gunners Tie Moved

Arsenal's Europa League away tie against Benfica has become the latest European tie involving English clubs to have to move venue due to travel restrictions. Both Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as Liverpool, have all had to move their away ties to a neutral venue. Arsenal's match will now take place in the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
