Blackburn Rovers winger Tyrhys Dolan has followed teammate John Buckley in committing his future to Ewood Park by signing a three and a half year deal.

Manchester United's teenage forward Mason Greenwood has signed a contract extension which runs until 2025 with an option for another year.

Austrian defender David Alaba has confirmed that he will leave Bayern Munich in the summer at the end of his current contract.

Montreal have signed Erik Hurtado on a free transfer from fellow Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City.

Leaving MLS on a free transfer is Valeri Qazaishvili, who has joined Jeju United from San Jose Earthquakes.

Injury Round-Up

Managerial Changes

RB Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed that he rejected an approach from Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, while still in charge of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The 33-year-old said: "It is important to have a career plan, to make the right steps. It is true I had a phone call from Real Madrid. I was not the only one they got in touch with. They wanted to talk to me and get to know me and get to know my philosophy. I made the right decision, it was not that easy because Real Madrid are one of the biggest clubs. If they call me in the future perhaps the decision would be different, but two years ago it was the right decision. I had no time for preparation, no time to learn the language. I did not have great experience at international level. With Hoffenheim, we only won one continental game, so to be the next manager of Real Madrid was not the right next step. The step to go to Leipzig was better for my career."

Disciplinary Charges

The former head of the football federation of the Central African Republic, Patrice-Edouard Ngaissona, is before the International Criminal Court accused of war crimes. Ngaissona, who led a mainly Christian anti-Balaka group, is facing allegations which include murder, torture and enlisting children as soldiers.

Former AS Roma, Parma, Juventus and Inter Milan defender Luigi Sartor has been put under house arrest after police reportedly found him and an accomplice growing 106 marijuana plants in Sartor's mountain cottage. Sartor has previously been in trouble with the law in 2011 after he was indicted for conspiracy to commit betting fraud through match-fixing in a scandal known as Calcioscommesse. The investigation eventually ended under the statute of limitations rule in 2019.

Posh To Buy Ground

Eighteen years after they sold their ground to a property developer, Peterborough United have agreed a deal to buy it back from the city council. The club did have plans to build a new ground which has been delayed by the pandemic.

Prague Make Schmeichel Apology

Slavia Prague's chairman Jaroslav Tvrdik has apologised for a video published by the club which heavily criticised Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. In an interview for a Europa League preview, journalist Jiri Hosek claimed that "Schmeichel is the only Premier League player who, underneath his shirt, wears a corset." He also said Schmeichel "is a keeper who has had problems with his healthy lifestyle," and that "a tough manager that favours athleticism would probably want Schmeichel to lose five or 10 kilos."
