Managerial Changes

After just two months in the role, Celtic's chief executive Dominic McKay has stepped down for the role for personal reasons. The club's director of legal and football affairs, Michael Nicholson, is to fill in until a permanent appointment is made.

 


Disciplinary Charges

Stevenage have been fined £1,000 after admitting a charge of failing to control their players. There was an incident in the 92nd minute after their opponents on the day, Swindon Town, were awarded a penalty.

Mansfield Town's Stephen Quinn has been banned for 3 games after admitting violent conduct. The veteran was shown a red card during a defeat by Harrogate Town and was charged due to his behaviour after the card was issued, which was not seen by match officials at the time.

 


Messi Breaks Pele Record

Lionel Messi has broken Pele's record of goals scored in international matches by a South American. Pele managed 77 international goals in 92 matches but a hat-trick against Bolivia in a World Cup qualifier has taken Paris Saint-Germain's summer signing to 79 goals in 153 games.
