Contracts

Teenage Barcelona sensation Ansu Fati has signed a new deal with the Catalan club, with a 1bn euro release clause which runs until 2027. It also has a 2-year club option.

Venezia winger Dennis Johnsen has a new contract which expires in 2025.

Coventry City have given striker Matt Godden a new deal which will last until 2024.

Transfers

Joaquin Torres loan from Newell's Old Boys to Major League Soccer's CF Montreal has been turned into a permanent transfer for a fee of $350,000 plus 10% of any future transfer profit.

Free agent Italian forward Francesco Margiotta has signed for Melbourne Victory.

Another free agent Italian, this time midfielder Nicolas Viola, has signed for Bologna.

Stockport County have signed Antoni Sarcevic, the Bolton Wanderers captain.

Injury Round-Up

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out for "a number of weeks" more after suffering a setback in his recovery from a quad injury.

Veteran Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone is out for a month with a reoccurrence of a hamstring injury.

Stoke City's former Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell has been ruled out for around 2 months with a cracked fibula in his right leg.

A positive CV test has meant Oxford United's head coach Karl Robinson will miss the team's next two matches while he is in isolation.

Managerial Changes

Bristol City coach Paul Simpson has left the club by 'mutual agreement'. The 55-year-old had been assistant manager until taking time off to undergo cancer treatment in July. Curtis Fleming was brought in to replace him last month, even though Simpson had returned to work in August.

Nigel Adkins has been sacked by Charlton Athletic. The former Southampton manager had been in charge at The Valley for just seven months but his team are in the relegation zone after just two wins in 13 league games this season. Assistant manager Johnnie Jackson will be in caretaker charge of the team.

Disciplinary Charges

Saint-Etienne's game against Angers was delayed last night as ASSE fans threw flares on to the pitch and demanded the resignation of former Southampton and Leicester City manager Claude Puel. Saint-Etienne are bottom of Ligue 1 without a single win this season, with a goal difference of -14. The fans also held up two large banners, one reading "We've had enough talk, you're making us crack." The other read: "Puel, directors, players, you are all responsible for this chaos." The flares rained down as the players were warming-up and set the goal nets and areas of the turf on fire, leading to an hour long delay to kick-off.
