Contracts

AFC Wimbledon defender Darius Charles has retired from playing at the age of 34. He rejoined Wimbledon in the summer but failed to make a single appearance, not even picking himself when he was given temporary charge of the team after Mark Robinson left last month.

Also hanging his boots up is Harrogate Town midfielder Lloyd Kerry, who is retiring at the end of the season. The 33-year-old will take up the post of head of recruitment at the club.

Transfers

Francisco Di Franco has left Dnipro Donetsk on loan for Atletico Tucuman.

Former Newcastle United and West Ham United midfielder Mohamed Diame has joined Fuenlabrada. The 34-year-old Senegalese international was a free agent after leaving Al-Ahli of the Qatari Stars League in July.

Injury Round Up

Birmingham City's former Chelsea youngster Neil Etheridge has been released from hospital. The 32-year-old goalkeeper was knocked unconscious during the defeat to Nottingham Forest and had to be taken to hospital after lengthy treatment on the pitch.

Managerial Changes

Following relegation from League One being confirmed, Crewe Alexandra have sacked their head coach David Artell. They lost their 15th game in the last 16 matches on Saturday to drop down to League Two for next season with 4 games to play. Assistant manager Alex Morris has been installed as interim manager.

Carlos Quieroz has left the role of Egypt manager following his failure to lead them to the World Cup.

Disciplinary Charges

Atletico Madrid have been ordered to close off 5,000 seats for the second-leg of their European Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City by UEFA. The punishment has been handed out due to the "discriminatory behaviour" of Atletico fans during the first leg. They will also have to display a UEFA banner reading "#NoToRacism".

UEFA have provisionally suspended AS Roma's goalkeeper coach Nuno Santos and Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen over an alleged altercation between the pair after the Norwegian's beat Roma 2-1 in the Europa Conference League. Bodo/Glimt, who claim to have video evidence of Knutsen being attacked by members of Roma's support staff, responded: "We are surprised and shocked by Uefa's decision. We will appeal, and will work on it throughout the evening. Beyond that, we currently have no comments."

After footage appeared on social media of Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo knocking the phone out of the hand of an Everton fan as he left the pitch following the 1-0 defeat to the Toffees, police have stated that they are investigating an alleged assault. It was claimed that the fan's phone was broken and that he suffered a bruised hand. To add insult to injury, Ronaldo offered to take the fan to see a United game alongside his apology on social media.
