Wolverhampton Wanderers Player Ratings v Newcastle United:

Sa 7 - Can't be blamed for any of the goals and swept up well behind a very shaky defence.

R. Gomes 5 - struggled with Gordon and looked, as he is, lightweight.

Doherty 5 - hard to criticise as he simply shouldn't be there but out of his depth against any sort of movement or subtlety.

Bueno 5 - a decent 4 or 5th choice Prem CB. Not good enough to be in the first team.

Emmanuel 5 - physical but equally bad as his colleagues today - forgiven as he has just arrived and they aren't good enough.

CD is a major issue! I can't believe that I am still saying this 5 months on from the insane and totally amateur hour decision to sell and not replace Kilman just as Dawson unsurprisingly falls off a cliff!
When you add this decision to the post Seville madness and his ongoing financial incompetence Jeff really shouldn't be allowed to deal with the delivery of pies to the club let alone anything else!

RAN 6 - looked better when Cunha came on and we had someone who could control the ball in front of him but not an easy game for him.

Andre 6 - battled well.

Gomes 7 - worked really hard and must have felt he was carrying the team at times.

Hwang 4 - not very good and didn't even try hard as to fair he normally does. He should go now for whatever we can get.

Larsen 5 - missed 2 sitters, (point for being there to miss them), and didn't do a lot else but it must be hard working with so little quality around you

Guedes 4 - better than Hwang

Subs:

Cunha 7 - did far more in 45 mins than Hwang and Guedes did in their combined minutes. A class above this side!

Semedo 6 - looked, as he is, a quality experienced Prem league player.

Bellegarde 4 - failed to get into the game. Not good enough.

Doyle 5 - didn't have long but looked ok if once again lightweight - will be fine as a 4th/5th choice DCM (Lemina?)

Sarabia 5 - missed 2 half chances in his handful of minutes one of which he really should score from but doesn't give us anything like enough given his wages so also should go this January.

Vitor 5 - been dealt a really bad hand with this inadequate squad and has also inherited GON's shambolic seemingly uncoached defence. But he has to iron out the kind of errors being made in defence on the training ground rapidly as they are totally unacceptable in professional football. Was too slow with subs as Semedo and Cunha made a massive difference when they came on.

His most important job though is to insist we add quality to this substandard squad asap particularly in CD as this side is only a Cunha injury away from relegation - even without one it is going to be very tight.
