Football News: Chelsea FC No Longer Has A Trophy Winning Policy?

Chelsea FC No Longer Has A Trophy Winning Policy?

Good day everyone, I'd like to state a few things of note about Chelsea FC that I've observed recently. I have a doubt about the direction the club is going with Todd Boehly and Co. Their signing policy is suspect to me. I think they want to run Chelsea as more of a for profit business than an ambitious trophy winning football club.

The idea is no longer about buying players to win trophies, but to acquire players so they appreciate in value over time for profit, which is different from the Roman Abramovich era (preferred era imo).

Just waiting to see the reactions when Manchester City or any of the Spanish powerhouses walk in next summer to cherry pick our best players like Cole Palmer etc.

Chelsea keep buying young, unproven players on lengthy contracts to sell on for a profit. When Boehly and Co. came in, Chelsea needed a rebuild, but unfortunately none of the priorities were addressed. We needed a striker, defenders and a decent goalkeeper. Now they have spent over 2 billon pounds and yet nothing is adequately addressed. When they do buy a player, they're usually not adequate for a team that wants to compete at the top.

Delap, a relegation striker, was signed to help Chelsea win the league. Chelsea have had the opportunity to sign Victor Osimhen, Doberman and other players capable of transforming the team, but we always go for lower priced players with an eye for the resale value.

Sure you have been seeing Carra on our case recently, yes he talks off points often, but there are some bitter truth in some of his comments. We are going to find Chelsea in a situation where we all wonder what we have spent money on.

Liverpool FC bought Ekitike and still dug their heels in to sign Isak, that's ambitious to me. We continue to round-trip and not go forward. Chelsea now celebrate winning the Conference League, a 3rd tier UEFA competition. Don't get carried away by the CWC win, it was a lucky tournament for Chelsea last season.

In my opinion, Chelsea are still not going in the right direction, spending a whopping 2 billion pounds and not having a balanced squad that can compete with the very best in Europe as we used to do.

Had to state this before things start going bad and it will look like a reactionary post when I do. Can't even think we can beat Brighton comfortably. I wish Chelsea all the best, but we have to live through the present before getting to the future.

This 'Acquire young players policy' is a business model rather than a trophy winning one. There should be a mix of experienced players to compete for both present and future.
