QPR Agree FFP Settlement With EFL

QPR have finally come to an agreement with the English Football League over their breach of Financial Fair Play rules in the 2013/14 season. The near £42m (sort of) fine will not be taken into account when calculating QPR's spend in coming seasons, one of the key points the two sides had been disputing. They will pay £17m to the league, £3m for legal costs over a period of ten years. The balance, £21.965m, the owners will cover by converting outstanding loans to the club into shares. QPR will also have a transfer ban in place for this January transfer window.

Rangers Have Lafferty Bid Rejected

Wolverhampton Wanderers' Nigerian international goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has retired from playing at the age of just 32. Ikeme has been with Wolves since he was 14 years old, making more than 200 appearances and was named as Nigeria's 24th squad member during the World Cup after being ruled out of playing with his illness.

Russia Coach Extends Contract

After the host nation's surprisingly good showing in the 2018 World Cup, their head coach Stanislav Cherchesov has been rewarded with a 2 year contract extension. They ended up reaching the quarter finals by beating Spain in the last 16, only losing out on penalties to runners-up Croatia.

Nearly a quarter of Germany's population are from a foreign background and believe Ozil is right when he said they are German when they win but immigrants when they lose.
