Mansour Banned For A Year

Before any fans of Manchester City rivals get excited, it is not Sheikh Mansour but Mortada Mansour, the chairman of one of Egypt's biggest clubs, Zamalek. Mansour has received a year's ban simply for insulting the CAF president and CAF general secretary in a video and fined US$40,000. Mansour reacted with a dismissive reply and pointed out that he does not attend CAF matches anyway.

Runcorn Sign Former Bayern Winger

In 2011 Dale Jennings was a 'wunderkind' who Bayern Munich swooped in to sign from Tranmere Rovers for £500,000 at the age of just 18. After failing to make the grade in Munich, he returned to English football a couple of years later but had slid out of the professional game by 2015. He has now signed for 9th tier side Runcorn Town as he looks to build a career the Jamie Vardy way.

Danes Sort Out Player Dispute

Denmark's FA and player union have sorted out their dispute over commercial rights meaning there will be no more futsal players, students, sales reps or even internet skills stars called up for the national team. A new collective bargaining agreement has been signed which runs until 2024 meaning the professionals belonging to the players union (DBU) are available for call ups. Almost disappointing to have no more futsal players.

14 Injured After Stand Partially Collapses In La Liga

Fourteen spectators were injured during Sevilla's 2-0 win over Eibar when railings gave way as supporters celebrated one of the goals, a penalty by Ever Banega, which made it 2-0. The game was stopped for six minutes as the fans received medical treatment. Ten of the injured required hospital treatment.

Choupo-Moting Suggests Tapping Up

In the most bizarre and unexpected transfer of the summer, Eric Choupo-Moting, who had managed just 5 goals as Stoke City slumped to relegation from the Premier League, moved to Paris Saint-Germain to act as cover for Edinson Cavani, who had scored 40+ goals each of the last couple of seasons. Now the PSG forward has suggested he was tapped up in advance by Thomas Tuchel, while the season was ongoing. Choupo-Moting said: "Thomas Tuchel had already contacted me a few months before, after the end of the season with Stoke. We'd kept in touch since Mainz. I learnt a lot with him. He contacted me and asked me if I thought about playing here. Playing for him and training for him. I told him yes, of course.
"It wasn't a sure thing. I had to wait. I was focused on my preparation with Stoke. It happened on the last day. I'm very happy that it happened. He trusts me. I'm just really happy to be here."

Marotta Leaves Juve With Hints Of Being Pushed Out Of The Door

Juventus' CEO Beppe Marotta has confirmed he will be leaving the club after 8 years, surprising manager Max Allegri, who admitted in his press conference that it was news to him. A statement on Juventus' website said: "The club is carrying out an extensive renewal. My mandate as chief executive comes to an end on 25 October and the list of board members, which will be presented on Monday, will not contain my name. For the time being I will remain in place as chief executive but I wanted to make this statement in order to avoid any speculation. I will assess my position along with the club president in the coming days. I've had eight wonderful years here, full of success, and Juventus will always remain in my heart." He later ruled himself out of running for the FIGC presidency in an interview with Sky Sports Italia saying: "It has been a remarkable eight-year run, Juventus will always be in my heart. I want to announce this because a list of the directors will be released on Monday and my name won't be on it. I thought it only right to anticipate and give that news before anyone tries to create a different version. The natural end to the mandate is October 25 and will not be renewed. I will remain as director general of the sport area. For how long is a detail we'll decide with the President. I can categorically exclude the report I will be a candidate for the FIGC Presidency. That is not an experience that interests me. We'll explain in more detail later on, but this is what I felt the need to confirm right now. It is an emotional moment."

Ronaldo Makes The Headlines In Madrid Derby

Real Madrid fans have made their feelings known during the goalless draw with city rivals Atletico Madrid as they chanted the name of Ronaldo, who left the club for Juventus in the summer. With just one goal in the last three games, Real Madrid are struggling in La Liga without the Portugese, who has 3 goals and 4 assists in Serie A, despite a slow start.
