Football News: Tottenham sign Paulinho

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho from Cornthians with the player signing a long term contract at the club,The fee is believed to be in the region of £17 million pounds and the player will meet up with the Tottenham squad.

Paulinho who recently won the confederations cup has expressed his delight at his move to Tottenham by saying "I am very happy and excited to have joined Spurs. It's a huge pleasure for my career to be at a club as big as Tottenham", Paulinho said.

Paulinho has been capped 17 times for Brazil and has become a regular in the Corinthians side playing as a deep lying midfielder,It is thought Paulinho's move to Tottenham Hotspur will spell the end for one of Tom Huddlestone or Scott Parker with a few clubs looking at the players.

Paulinho has already played against English opposition playing for Corinthians in there Fifa world cup final defeat to Tottenham's London rivals Chelsea. Paulinho was thought to be attracting interest from all corners of the globe with Italian side Inter Milan who deemed him to expensive and decided not to take there interest any further.
