Brentford give 20 year old Danish defender Luka Racic a new 4 year deal.

Young goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has signed a new long-term contract with Bournemouth. The 21 year old has become the club's number one this season, starting all of their Premier League matches.

More Racist Abuse Mars English Football

A police investigation has been launched by Northamptonshire Police after racist abuse was heard in the away end as Northampton Town played Salford in League Two on Saturday. Superintendent Dennis Murray said: "We're working with both clubs, who are cooperating with our investigation. Thankfully incidents like this are rare, but Northamptonshire Police will not tolerate racist or abusive language, within sport or anywhere else, and would encourage anyone who witnesses anything of this nature to report it to us so we can investigate."

 


Dons Sack Downes

AFC Wimbledon have split with manager Wally Downes via "mutually agreed terms" after he was suspended by the Football Association after admitting breaking betting rules. The club's statement explained: "Wally leaves on mutually agreed terms and with our sincerest gratitude for his time with the club, especially his invaluable contribution last season. The agreement was reached with the approval of the Dons Trust board."

 


Blades Record Signing Charged With Drink-Driving

Oli McBurnie, Sheffield United's Scottish international striker, has been charged with drink-driving in Leeds on Friday. The 23 year old, who cost the Sheffield team £20m in the summer, is set to appear in court on 6th November. He had missed the recent internationals through injury.

 


Man Utd Eject Fan For Racial Abuse

Manchester United ejected a fan from their 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday after it was alleged he was racially abusing a Liverpool player. United have said that it will become a lifetime ban for the fan if it is proved that there was racist abuse: "Racism and all forms of discrimination are completely unacceptable and do not reflect the values of our club. We are aware of an incident at yesterday's game where an individual in the home section has allegedly engaged in racial abuse. The individual was identified and ejected from the stadium."

 


Serbia Punished By UEFA

Serbia were hit with a number of charges by UEFA after their UEFA Euros qualifier against Portugal. They were charged with field invasions of supporters, setting off of fireworks, racist behaviour, illicit chants and a late kick-off. They were fined a total of 33,250 euros for all the charges bar racist behaviour, which was punished with a single game to be held behind closed doors, with another match as a suspended punishment for a year.

Pellegrino Quits

Mauricio Pellegrino has stepped down as coach of Leganes, with the Spanish side sat at the bottom of La Liga. They finished 13th under him last season but, despite a significant outlay in the transfer market, by their standards, they have struggled badly this season.
