VfL Bochum have given veteran midfielder Anthony Losilla a new deal which will expire in 2023.

Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard has agreed a new deal which expires in 2025 with an option for a further year.

Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Gallagher has signed up until 2024 with a club option for 1 more year.

Luton Town's head coach Nathan Jones has extended his contract until 2027.

Serie A's Venezia have paid £4.05m to sign French midfielder Michael Cuisance from Bayern Munich.

Teenage forward Ricardo Pepi has moved to Augsburg for a fee of £14.73m from FC Dallas, a record for an outgoing homegrown MLS player.

Injury Round-Up

Watford have denied blocking their winger Ismaila Sarr from joining Senegal for the AFCON, saying that the 23-year-old has knee ligament damage. The Senegal FA stated: "The FSF wishes to express its deep condemnation of the disrespectful, pernicious and discriminatory behaviour of Watford who seek by all means to prevent a player from playing with his national team. Africa, its football and its footballers deserve the same respect as that accorded to other continents, confederations and players." Watford replied: "In early December, the club wrote to the Senegal Football Federation outlining the clinical diagnosis of Ismaila's injury and immediately followed that up by supplying the MRI scans detailing the extent of the injury. After further consultation with medical experts, we informed the Federation of Ismaila's rehabilitation process and likely timeframe of recovery. Within the past 10 days, the club has reiterated to the Senegal Football Federation the player's current medical status and recovery schedule. The Hornets have have also invited the Senegal Football Federation to instruct their own independent surgeon to confirm the diagnosis and rehabilitation period."

 


Managerial Changes

AS Monaco have sacked their manager Niko Kovac. Kovac replaced Robert Moreno in July 2020. Reserve coach Stephane Nado will take interim charge of the team.

 


Disciplinary Charges

Burnley right-back Matt Lowton was struck on the head by a full bottle of Coca-Cola thrown from the Leeds United support after Burnley equalised. The full-back was left with a noticeable red mark on his forehead afterwards.

 


Pandemic Problems

Paris Saint-Germain quartet Lionel Messi, Juan Bernat, Nathan Bitumazala and Sergio Rico are all out having tested positive for CV. Messi is currently isolating in Argentina.
