Football News: Potential Glasgow Rangers Managers
The start of a new week and more names being thrown in on the Rangers manager front. With a few posters along with a friend sticking to their guns that Steven Gerrard is the next manager, I'm having doubts about that. I don't think we will go back the way even though he's the only manager to have won a title with us since we came back up from the Lower divisions.
Was having a chat back and forth with my mate in Glasgow, he thinks the info he got is sound and Gerrard will be named. Fair play to him and others on here for sticking to their guns and I'll congratulate them on their info if it does come to fruition.
However, I'm feeling it will be someone new, I think Russel Martin will have been interested in the job, but I don't think he's really what I would want for our club. Looking over his managerial career, it doesn't jump out as being someone who will come in and transform our domestic football.
Rob Edwards is another name now being thrown around by the main stream media. Would I want Rob Edwards? Again, I'm not sure he would be the right fit for us, but it's a potential name nonetheless.
Frank Lampard looks certain now to stay at Coventry City and is looking forward to a ton of transfer business this summer to make them stronger.
Marco Rose is becoming more interesting to me. I wasn't buying it at first especially with rumours of wage demands etc. But I think there could be a deal struck there and I'm now coming round. He's one of the main contenders for the job, he has a good pedigree, knows the game inside out and has very good managerial experience. Having been with RB Leipzig, I think he did a good job there and could potentially come in and make us a force. I'm definitely coming round to Rose being our next manager.
Francesco Farioli left Ajax, but i see he's already being touted for Tottenham Hotspur job, apparently taking over from big Ange, who looks to be on a very shaky peg, especially if he loses the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United.
There are other names like Danny Rohl etc., but for me don't have nearly enough experience to be taking on a club like ours and I think the likes of Andrew Cavenagh etc. will know that.
Could Scott Parker be enticed to leave his newly promoted Burnley? He's actually had a very good year with Burnley and has done well. Chris Wilder is another name I seen mentioned. Will Still could have been a very good option and it's unfortunate he's having to be with his wife who I'm led to believe is unwell reading posts and news articles.
So could it be a a manager no one has even thought about?
Roberto De Zerbi
Thierry Henry - the French connection
Bruno Génésio
Adi Hutter
When you think about it, the takeover finally being done and the players involved, we could entice a whole load of mangers no one has even discussed yet, but I think we will all be out of our misery over the next 7 days as I believe it will be announced over the next week - just a hunch.
Has it taken so long because we're actually waiting for a manager to finish his domestic league season and then it will be announced? That could put Chris Wilder in the frame and potentially Sunderland manager, Régis Le Bris as well.
I wonder what manager it would take for the vast majority of our support to all be like, yeah that's the guy. Is there such a guy within our budget (whatever that may be) actually out there?
